Uh Windows and all the daemons means lots of "services" running?
I'm cursing Linux to hell currently (and/or actually our support department). Without root access in Linux you are so screwed. And kernel scheduling is so f*cked up it's impossible to work with time sensitive stuff. |

uh, Macs have had a terminal for 10 years now. OSX is based on BSD. (Which you're also missing.) |

I knew macs based on BSD, sorry that I didn't know they had a terminal, only used one a few times. And, as with debian, haven't tried BSD recently and didn't really consider it for my desktop OS |

@Eskimo
Kernel scheduling in Linux is far better than one in Windows. For time sensitive stuff you should use real time kernel. Then you get something Windows can never hope to achieve.
And Macs... That would be 1st level with hidden leading to down stairs somewhere. Doing stuff on Mac requires you to find that , otherwise you just kill lichens. |

@ Coolthulhu
Yes, I always have to remind myself, somewhere under there is real operating system.
I want to install, on my friend's Mac that I am sometimes debugging for him, a sound effect whenever I open the terminal, which will be the line in Jurassic Park (the film) where the girl says "It's a Unix system. I know this.". (Actually, it probably would not sound very good.)
That's what Macs are good for, after all, flashy effects. |

The best thing about this is that you can see it as a continuation of the previous comic! |
